IP Education Platform (IPEDU™)
The project is a bilateral initiative between the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH), with the Innovation Foundation and IPR University Center as project partners for PRH. The project aims to develop an intellectual property learning framework and library, the IP Education Platform, where anyone can freely access digital, modular, and diverse IP/IPR learning materials.
— “PRH strives to promote the dissemination of knowledge related to intellectual property in Finland. This is best done in cooperation with key industry players,” says the project manager of the initiative, Olli Ilmarinen, from PRH.
In the project:
- A “framework” for the system will be defined using service design and pedagogical planning.
- The IPR University Center’s training package, “Future Inventors and IPR” course, will be updated and used as part of the training library.
- Other materials will be collected for the library as part of the piloting phase.
- A pilot model will be tested, and insights will be gathered for further development.
The Innovation Foundation will:
- Manage the procurement and availability of diverse materials.
- Facilitate the creation of a web-based platform in collaboration with other participants.
- Conduct the piloting phase with a test group of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and gather feedback for future development.
- Support the actions of other participants.
The project is part of the Innovation Foundation’s IPEDU™ initiative, which compiles an IP/IPR training library through various sub-projects. This will be integrated into the Ideajalostamo™ framework.
The project runs from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and is funded by EUIPO.
