More information will be provided on this page when the Apu + Raha service reopens.
What is Apu+Raha?
The Apu+Raha service, provided by the Keksintösäätiö (Foundation for Finnish Inventions), is part of the Ideajalostamo concept. Its goal is to promote Finnish innovation by offering inventors guidance and funding to develop and commercialize their invention projects. The service combines expert evaluation, advisory support, and financial assistance. It is available to individuals, companies, or collaborations between businesses.
Access to Apu+Raha requires logging in with online banking credentials. Strong identification of both applicants and experts is a prerequisite for using the service. Keksintösäätiö prioritizes customer trust, ensuring that its services are safe and reliable. Protecting your privacy is also a top concern, and all available measures are taken to safeguard it. You can read more about data protection here and about cookies here.
The funding for the Apu+Raha service has been granted by the Finnish Cultural Foundation. The service is implemented in cooperation with the women’s inventors’ network QUIN-Suomi ry and the Finnish Inventors’ Central Association (Suomen Keksijäin Keskusliitto ry), which provide expert advisors.
How does the grant work?
The grant is considered taxable income. More information about inventor taxation and how Keksintösäätiö’s financial support is taxed can be found here:

Service Implementation
Apu+Raha is an online platform where users log in using their online banking credentials. Strong authentication is a prerequisite for using the service. The basis for collecting, storing, and using customer data is detailed in the Apu+Raha service’s privacy policy. Applicants are supported by a team of experts who provide guidance in developing their ideas. These experts are bound by a confidentiality agreement, prohibiting them from disclosing or using any information outside the intended purpose of this service.
Ensuring Data Security
Ensuring data security is crucial to Keksintösäätiö so that customers can trust the foundation’s services and their safety. Security is maintained through available methods, such as encrypting the data stored on the service’s servers. The service relies on reputable and well-known cloud providers, who are also responsible for maintaining security and preventing potential cyberattacks.
Who Can See My Idea?
Apu+Raha’s core requirement and fundamental feature is confidentiality. Any invention or innovation idea submitted through the platform is processed securely and confidentially at every stage.
Applications submitted through the system are first reviewed by Keksintösäätiö’s administration. The foundation’s representatives are committed to confidentiality and will not disclose or use information obtained during the process for any purpose other than the intended function of the service.
Keksintösäätiö assigns a suitable expert to each application, whose role is to mentor and support the applicant, helping refine the application to be more comprehensive and effective. Information about the assigned expert will be available in the applicant’s application details.
If an Apu+Raha application results in a positive funding decision, the applicant’s name, municipality of residence, application title, and public summary of the project will be published.
